1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
twenty-four hundred and two of the Code of Virginia, be amended and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 2402. When no tax on seal to be charged.—No tax shall
be charged when a seal is annexed to any paper or document to be used
in obtaining the benefit of a pension, revolutionary claim, money due

on account of military services or land bounty, under any act of Con-
gress, or under a law of this or any other State, or when a seal is annexed
by a notary or clerk of court to an affidavit or deposition.
