Chap. 133.—An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to provide for the working
of the public roads in the county of Charlotte, for the creation of district
road boards in said county, and for the repeal of ‘all acta in conflict therewith,
approved March 20, 1916, and all acts amendatory thereof, and to bring Char-
lotte county within the provisions of the general laws of the State Pa
roads and highways, with certain exceptions. — {fH B 297}

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to provide for the working of the public roads in the
county of Charlotte, for the creation of district road boards in said
county, and for the repeal of all acts in conflict therewith, approved
March twentieth, nineteen hundred and sixteen, and all acts amenda-
tory thereof, be, and they are hereby, repealed.
2. The provisions of the general laws of the State concerning roads
and highways shall apply in all respects to the county of Charlotte,
xcept that the maximum district road tax prescribed by section nine-
een hundred and eighty-seven of the Code of Virginia shall not apply,
out the rate in said county shall not be more than sixty cents upon every
yne hundred dollars valuation; and, except, further, that the maximum
-ompensation of viewers and surveyors as prescribed in section nine-
een hundred and eighty-three of the Code of Virginia shall not applv,.
but the maximum compensation in said county shall not be more than
two dollars per day for each viewer and five dollars per day for each
surveyor, together with the mileage allowed by said section.
3. Anemergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
