Chap. 108.—An ACT to validate and legalize all proceedings heretofore taken by
the commission of roads and bridges for the county of Norfolk and by the board
of supervisors of said county authorizing the issuance of two hundred and
eighty thousand ($280,000.00) dollars road and bridge improvement bonds of
the county of Norfolk, including the sale of said bonds, to validate all bonds
issued under said proceedings, and to authorize the levy of sufficient taxes for
the payment of the principal and interest of said bonds. . {H B 303}

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That all pro-
ceedings heretofore taken by the commission of roads and bridges, by
the county of Norfolk, and by the board of supervisors of said county,
authorizing the issuance of two hundred and eighty thousand dollars
($280,000) road and bridge improvement bonds of the county of Nor-
folk, under the authority of chapter forty-two of the acts of the general
assembly for nineteen hundred and twenty-three, approved March
twentieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-three, and the proceedings
heretofore taken for the sale of said bonds are hereby ratified, legalized
and validated, and said bonds when duly delivered and paid for in ac-
cordance with the terms of the sale heretofore made, or in pursuance of
any sale hereafter made, shall constitute the valid, legal and incon-
testible obligations of the county of Norfolk, Virginia.
2. While said bonds or any of them are outstanding and unpaid, the
board of supervisors shall annually levy upon all taxable property sub-
ject to local taxation in the county of Norfolk, a tax sufficient to pay the
interest on said bonds, and to create a sinking fund sufficient for the re-
tirement of the principal thereof at maturity.
3. Anemergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
