Chap. 83.—An ACT to authorize the holding of an election in Dranesville
magisterial district of the county of Fairfax before the expiration
of one year from a former election held in said magisterial district,
on the question of the issuance of bonds for road construction and
improvement. [S B 71]
Approved March 28, 1928.
Whereas, an election was held in Dranesville magisterial dis-
trict in the county of Fairfax in November, nineteen hundred
and twenty-two, on the question of the issuance of bonds for the
construction and improvement of certain roads and bridges in
said district; and,
Whereas, owing to a misapprehension of the law, the petition
failed to provide for the construction of one of the roads through
the town of Herndon, which is situated in said magisterial dis-
trict; and,
Whereas, the citizens of the said magisterial district desire
to vote additional bonds to construct and improve said road
through the said town; and,
Whereas, it is provided by section eleven of an act approved
March twenty-eighth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two au-
thorizing the issuing of county bonds for permanent road or
bridge improvement, in the magisterial districts of the counties
of the State, that “no election upon the question of the issuance
of bonds under this act shall be held oftener than once in one
year for the same magisterial district”; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
notwithstanding the provisions of section eleven of the act
aforesaid, an election may be held in Dranesville magisterial dis-
trict of Fairfax county before the expiration of one year from
the said election of November, nineteen hundred and twenty-
two, on the question of the issuance of bonds for the construction
and improvement of the said road through the town of Herndon.
In all other respects the provisions of the said act approved
March twenty-eighth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, as
amended, shall be applicable.
An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from
its passage.
