Chap. 45. An ACT authorizing and directing the persons who were on
July 15, 1922, chairman and secretary, respectively, of the school
board of Islands district, number one, of the county of Accomac, to
sign certain bonds issued by the said board and affix the corporate
seal of the board thereto, and declaring said bonds, when so executed,
valid and binding obligations. [S B 42]

Whereas, pursuant to an order of the circuit court of the
county of Accomac, entered on the ninth day of October, nine-
teen hundred and nineteen, an election was held on the fourth
day of November, nineteen hundred and nineteen, authorizing
the school board of Islands district. number one, of the said
county, to issue forty thousand ($40,000) dollars worth of
bonds for the purpose of providing a school building for said
school district, and furnishing the same; and,
Whereas, by virtue of a resolution of the said school board,
passed and entered on the first day of May, nineteen hundred
and twerty-two, bonds amounting in the aggregate to forty
thousand ($40,000) dollars were issued, bearing date on July
fifteenth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, but due to an over-
sight the said bonds were not signed by the chairman and sec-
retary of the school board of said district and the corporate
seal affixed thereto on the said date nor before the first day of
September, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, on which last
mentioned date under and by virtue of chapter four hundred
and twenty-three of the acts of the general assembly of Vir-
ginia of nineteen hundred and twenty-two the said district
school board was abolished; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the persons who were chairman and secretary, respectively, of
the school board of Islands district, number one, of Accomac
county on July fifteenth, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, be,
and they are hereby, authorized and directed to sign the bonds
above mentioned, and affix the corporate seal of the said dis-
trict school board thereto, and when so executed the bonds
shall be in all respects valid and binding obligations.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from
its passage.
