Chap. 35.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors
of Lunenburg county, Virginia, to levy a special tax of fifty cents on
the one hundred dollars in the school districts of Plymouth, Brown’s
Store and Lochleven in said county to pay the existing indebtedness
of sald school districts. [H B 47]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of Lunenburg county, Virginia, are
hereby authorized and empowered, upon the request of the
Lunenburg county school board, to levy a special tax of fifty
cents on the one hundred dollars on all the taxable property,
real, personal and mixed in the school districts of Plymouth,
-Brown’s Store and Lochleven in said county, for a period not
exceeding five years. The proceeds from such levy are to be
used exclusively to pay interest on, and to discharge the exist-
ing indebtedness of, the said school district or to create a
sinking fund to discharge the said indebtedness. The word
indebtedness, as used in this act shall include all amounts of
money due and owing by said school districts at this date,
evidenced by bonds, certificates of indebtedness or otherwise.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from
its passage.
