Chap. 160.—An ACT for the protection of muskrat in Northumberland
and Westmoreland counties. [H B 136]
Approved March 29, 1923.
1. Be it enacted by the genera] assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be unlawful for any person to hunt, trap or kill muskrat
in the counties of Northumberland and Westmoreland, from the
first day of April to the fifteenth day of December of each year.
2. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not
less than five nor more than fifty dollars.
3. It shall be the duty of the game wardens of this State
to enforce the provisions of this act, and for their services they
Shall have the same fees and proportion of fines as now pro-
vided by law for cases of unlawful hunting.
