CHAP. 106.—An ACT to permit the county of Albemarle to open and main-
tain_a public road through certain land owned by the Commonwealth
of Virginia in said county. [H B 79]
Approved March 26, 1923.
Whereas, the county of Albemarle desires to have a good and
sufficient road leading to Monticello, the former home of Thomas
Jefferson, and in order to get a proper grade to build said road it
is necessary that said road should pass through the land owned
oy the Commonwealth of Virginia in said county of Albemarle,
conveyed to the Commonwealth by deed from Mistress A. W. C.
rrice, dated the twenty-ninth day of January, nineteen hun-
lred and nineteen, and recorded in the clerk’s office of the circuit
court of Albemarle county in deed book one hundred and sixty-
nine, page four hundred and seventy-one; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
che consent of the Commonwealth of Virginia is hereby given to
the county of Albemarle to open and maintain a public road
yhrough the lands of the Commonwealth in said county conveyed
(0 the Commonwealth by deed from Mistress A. W. C. Trice,
jated January twenty-ninth, nineteen hundred and nineteen,
and recorded in the clerk’s office of the circuit court of Albe-
marle county in deed book one hundred and sixty-nine, page
four hundred and seventy-one. The location of said road and
ts width and length shall be according to agreement between
she said county of Albemarle and the State board of health. The
State board of health may pass a resolution embodying such
wreement, which resolution shall be recorded along with the
slat of the said road in the current deed book of the clerk’s
fice of the circuit court of Albemarle county.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from
ts passage.
