false and untrue information concerning any person or corporation to pub-
lishers, or employees of publishers, with intent that the same shall be

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That any
person who knowingly and wilfully states, delivers or transmits by
any means whatever to any publisher, or employee of a publisher,
of any newspaper, magazine, or other publication, any false and un-
true statement concerning any person or corporation, with intent that
the same shall be published, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
