1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That se
tion sixteen hundred and sixteen of the Code of Virginia be amende
and re-enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 1616. Disposition of funds; compensation of members c
the board; how paid.—The funds realized from all fees collected b
the board shall be accounted for and shall be paid into the Stat
treasury. Each member of the board, except the secretary, sha!
receive eight dollars for each day actually employed in the discharg:
of his official duties, together with all necessary expenses incurred
The secretary of the board shall receive, in addition to necessary
expenses, an annual salary, to be fixed by the board, not exceeding
one thousand dollars. The compensation and expenses of the mem.
bérs, and the necessary expenses of the board shall be paid out of the
State treasury, on a requisition signed by the president and sec-
retary of the board, and upon the warrant of the auditor of public
accounts.
