Chap. 489.—An ACT requiring railroads to furnish water to live stock awaiting
shipments under certain conditions. [H B 356]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That every
railroad company in the State providing stock pens at any of its sta-
tions, shall be required to furnish at such points sufficient water fo:
the use of live stock held in such pens, awaiting shipment, providec
the city or town in which each of such stations is located has ar
adequate municipal water supply, and that as many as ten cars 0:
live stock are shipped from such station annually; and providec
further, that the obligation to water such stock awaiting shipment a’
its initial loading point, shall be upon the owner thereof and not upor
the railroad company or its agents.
