Chap. 451.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to provide
for the protection of certain fur-bearing animals in the county of Loudoun,
approved February 9, 1916, as amended by an act approved March 4, 1918.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to provide for the protection of certain fur-bearing
animals, in the county of Loudoun, approved February ninth, nine-
teen hundred and sixteen, as amended by an act approved March
fourth, nineteen hundred and eighteen, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
1. The open season for trapping mink, muskrat and skunk in
the county of Loudoun shall be from the first day of November to
the first day of March, and for opossum and raccoon from the first
day of October to the first day of March. Any person who shall
trap any of the said animals except in the open season as above
set forth, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined five
dollars for the first offense, and ten dollars for each subsequent offense,
one-half of which shall be paid to the person furnishing proof of the
violation of the law. | |
Chap. 452—An ACT to prescribe the open season for the hunting, killing or
capturing, in the counties of Fluvanna, Goochland, Buckingham and Cum-
berland, of all the game birds and game animals protected by the laws of
this State, and to prohibit the tracking of wild turkeys and rabbits in the
snow at any time in the said counties. (H B 254)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That here-
after in the counties of Fluvanna, Goochland, Buckingham and Cum-
berland the open season for the hunting, killing or trapping of all
game birds and game animals protected by the laws of this State
shall be from November first to January fifteenth, both inclusive;
but any person may hunt, kill or capture in the said counties squirrels
and rabbits on his own land at any time. It shall be unlawful, how-
ever, in the said counties to track rabbits in the snow at any time
except on one’s own land.
2. Any person violating this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,
and for the first offense shall be fined not less than twenty dollars
nor more than fifty dollars, and for a second or subsequent offense
he shall be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred
dollars.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage. )
