Chap. 427.—An ACT to authorize the school board of Winningham school dis-
trict, of the county of Nottoway, Virginia, to borrow money for the purpose
of erecting a high school building at Crewe in said district, and to issue
bonds therefor not to exceed the sum of ten thousand dollars iz amount.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
school board of Winningham school district, of the county of Notto-
way, Virginia, be authorized and empowered to borrow money, not
to exceed the sum of ten thousand dollars, the proceeds of such loan
to, be used for erecting a high school building at Crewe in said
district.
2. The said school board may issue bonds not to exceed the
sum of ten thousand dollars, to bear interest not to exceed six per
centum per annum, payable semi-annually, with interest coupons at-
tached thereto, and the principal thereof to be paid fifteen years after
date thereof, but the said school board shall have the right to antici-
pate the payment of any or all of said bonds on any semi-annual
interest date, after five years from the date of issue. Said bonds shall
be registered as to principal and interest and be in form as follows:
Know all men by these presents, That the school board of Win-
ningham school district, of the county of Nottoway, in the State of
Virginia, is justly indebted to and promises to pay to__-----__~..-_-

interest at the rate of six per centum from date, payable semi-annually ;
put the said school board shall have the right to anticipate the pay-
ment of this bond on any semi-annual interest date after the expira-
‘ion of five years from the date hereof.
In testimony whereof, the said school board of said Winningham
school district, of the county of Nottoway, Virginia, hath caused the
‘orporate seal of the same to be affixed and these presents to be signed
oy its chairman and attested by its clerk, this the--_--_____ day of

3. The said bonds shall be in denominations of one hundred
dollars or multiples thereof, and in making sale of same in accord-
ance with the provisions of this act, such bonds shall in no event
be sold at less than the par value thereof. And the board of super-
visors of said county shall provide for the payment of the accruing
imiterest on said bonds, or so many thereof as may be issued and sold,
and also for the payment of the principal of said bonds by district
levy on all property in said district subject to taxation for district
school purposes.
4. The bond issue authorized by this act shall not be made
unless and until the board of supervisors of Nottoway county has
by appropriate action approved the same.
An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
