Chap. 396.—An ACT to prohibit hunting or shooting of game birds, gatne, and
fur-bearing animals in Halifax county. [S B 299]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to hunt, shoot or kill any game bird and
any game or fur-bearing animals in the snow in the county of Halifax.
2. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined
not more than twenty-five dollars for each offense. Possession of
such dead bird or animal shall be prima facie evidence of the violation
of the provisions of this act, provided, however, this act shall not
apply to a person hunting rabbits in the snow on his own land.
