CHAP. 34.—An ACT for the protection of deer in the counties of Bath and
Highland. (H B 34]

I. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it
shall be unlawful to kill, capture or chase deer in the counties of
Bath and Highland; provided, that the boards of supervisors of
said counties shall respectively prescribe an open season of ten days
during the month of November of each year, in which it shall be
lawful for any person, duly licensed to hunt, to kill in either of
said counties, one male deer over the age of one year. But it shall
be unlawful for any person to chase deer with dogs in either of said
counties at any time.
Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined not less than
ten nor more than one hundred dollars. The justices of the peace
and the circuit courts shall have concurrent jurisdictions for the trial
of all violations of this act. :
3. This act shall be in force on and after November first, nine-
teen hundred and twenty-one.
