1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec
tion two thousand two hundred and fifty-two of the Code of Vir.
ginia be amended and re-enacted to read as follows:
Sec. 2252. There shall be four commissioners of the revenue fo:
each of the counties of Bedford, Franklin, and Pittsylvania; three
for each of the counties of Carroll, Grayson, Halifax, Hanover
Louisa, Patrick, Tazewell, Campbell and Smyth; two for each of the
counties of Accomac, Albemarle, Amherst, Bath, Botetourt, Bruns
wick, Buchanan, Buckingham, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Culpeper, Cum.
berland, Dickenson, Dinwiddie, Floyd, Fluvanna, Henry, Henrico
Lunenburg, Madison, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Nansemond, Nel
son, Norfolk, Nottaway, Orange, Prince William, Russell, Roanoke
Scott, Southampton, Sussex, Stafford, Washington, Wise and Wythe
one for each magisterial district in the counties of Augusta, Fauquier
Lee, Loudoun, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Alleghany
Spotsylvania and Caroline; and one for every other county nov
existing, or which may hereafter be created, and one for each city
but the voters residing within any city shall not vote for the com
missioner of the revenue for the county within the limits of whicl
such city lies.
In those counties in which there may be more than one com
missioner, each shall be for a certain district or districts, the bound:
of which shall be laid off and established when this Code takes effect
but the circuit court of any of said counties may, prior to May firs
in any year, make any change in said districts which to it shal
seem proper. ,
