Chap. 127.—An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to issue one hun-
dred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) of bonds for the purchasing of necessary
real estate and in erecting, constructing and installing incinerators in said
city. [H B 190)

Approved March 4, 1920.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That in
addition to the present indebtedness of the city of Newport News,
the said city be, and it is hereby, authorized to issue one hundred
thousand dollars ($100,000.00) of bonds, the proceeds of which shall
be expended in acquiring the necessary real estate and in erecting,
constructing and installing incinerators for disposal of the garbage
and refuse of said city.

2. That in the issuance of said bonds the council shall follow
the procedure and do all things required by chapter one hundred and
twenty-two, Code of Virginia, nineteen hundred and nineteen, required
to be done in the issuance of bonds.

3. The city of Newport News desiring to immediately construct
the improvement herein provided for, an emergency is declared, and
this act shall be in force from its passage.
