Chap. 123.—An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to issue twenty-
five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of bonds for the purpose of acquiring the
necessary land in erecting and constructing buildings for fire stations
thereon. {H B 187)
Approved March 4, 1920.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That in
addition to the present indebtedness of the city of Newport News,
the said city be, and it is hereby, authorized to issue for and in the
name of said city bonds in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars
($25,000.00), the proceeds of which are to be expended in acquiring
the necessary real estate and erecting and constructing thereon the
necessary buildings for fire stations within the said city.
2. That in the issuance of said bonds the council shall follow
the procedure and do all things required by chapter one hundred and
twenty-two, Code of Virginia, nineteen hundred and nineteen, re-
quired to be done in the issuance of bonds.
3. The city of Newport News desiring to immediately construct
the improvement herein provided for, an emergency is declared, and
this act shall be in force from its passage. :
