Chap. 112.—An ACT to appropriate the additional sum of $100,000 out of any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay criminal charges,
the appropriations heretofore made being insufficient. [S B 122]
Approved February 28, 1920.
Whereas, it is estimated by the auditor of public accounts the sum
of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) will be required to
meet the criminal charges to be paid up to and including the twenty-
ninth day of February, nineteen hundred and twenty; therefore, -
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) be, and the same
is hereby, appropriated out of any money in the treasury not other-
wise appropriated to pay criminal charges, including expenses of
juries, witnesses and other criminal charges, et cetera.
2. That this act shall be in force from its passage, because an
emergency exists in that, for insufficient appropriation, the auditor
of public accounts will be unable to pay criminal charges, payment
of which are provided for by law, unless an additional appropriation
is provided. ,
