Chap. 62.—An ACT for the relief of B. M. Hogg. [ H B 87}.
Approved September 9, 1919.
Whereas, B. M. Hogg, an old Confederate veteran, now re-
siding in Goochland county, made his application on May thir-
teenth, nineteen hundred and eighteen, for a pension under the
laws of Virginia, which application was approved by the pen-
sion board in August, nineteen hundred and eighteen; but on
account of the illness of certain officials during the late influenza
epidemic, the same was not approved and certified by the court
to the auditor of public accounts until April fifteenth, nineteen
hundred and nineteen, too late for the payment of the nineteen
hundred and eighteen pension; and,
Whereas, the said Hogg would have received his pension for
the year nineteen hundred and eighteen had his application not
been delayed by the illness of the officials aforesaid, he having
already received his pension for the year nineteen hundred and
nineteen ; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to
issue his warrant on the treasurer of Virginia in favor of B. M.
Hoge for the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars in payment
of a pension for the year nineteen hundred and eighteen, the same
to be paid out of any funds in the treasury available for the pay-
ment of pensions to Confederate veterans. :
2. The pensioner aforesaid being in need, an emergency is
declared to exist, and this act shall take effect from its passage.
