CHAP. 44.—An ACT to authorize the State highway commissioner to sell,
in his discretion, houses formerly used as toll houses on the Valley
turnpike, conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia under an act ap-
proved March 20, 1918. [S B 38]
Approved September 5, 1919.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the State highway commissioner be, and he is hereby, author-
ized, in his discretion, to make sale ‘of any or all of the houses
formerly used as toll houses on the Valley turnpike, conveyed to
the Commonwealth of Virginia under an act approved March
twentieth, nineteen hundred and eighteen.
2. The funds received from any sale or sales made under
this act shall be paid into the treasury of the State and expended
by the State highway commissioner for the benefit of the Valley
turnpike and land appurtenant thereto.
. 3. In order that the houses mentioned in this act may be
disposed of without further delay, an emergency is declared to
exist, and this act shall take effect upon its passage.
