CHAP. 29.—An ACT to appropriate the sum of six thousand dollars for
the purpose of providing proper ventilation in the halls of the general
assembly. [H. B. 38]

Whereas, by a joint resolution, agreed to March seventh, nine-
teen hundred and eighteen, it was provided that a committee
of three be appointed, of which the”governor was made chair-
man, composed of one member of the house of delegates ap-
pointed by the speaker of the house of delegates, and one mem-
ber of the senate appointed by the president of the senate, which
committee was authorized to have the ventilation of both halls
of the general assembly so arranged by the next meeting of the
general assembly as to afford fresh air sufficient to give health
and comfort to the members; and
Whereas, in order to carry the aforesaid resolution, an ap-
propriation is necessary ; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sum of six thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, be, and the same is hereby, appropriated out of any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the afore-
said purpose, to be paid by the treasurer of Virginia on the war-
rant of the auditor of public accounts, issued on vouchers, signed
by the governor as chairman of said committee.
2. An emergency existing by reason of the necessity for
completing this work before the next regular session of the gen-
eral assembly, this act shall be in force from its passage.
