Chap. 65.—An ACT to authorize the county treasurer of Surry county to pay
certain warrants drawn by the board of supervisors of said county,
payable out of the county levy, in favor of Dr. S. B. Barham, late
chairman of said board, for his salary as a member thereof, which war-
rants are barred by the statute of limitations. [S B 148]

Whereas, the late Dr. S. B. Barham, for forty-six years chair-
man of the board of supervisors of Surry county. at the time of his
death in August, nineteen hundred and sixteen, had in his possession
certain county warrants drawn by said board, and payable out of
the county levy to him for salary as a member of said board, which
warrants the treasurer of Surry county is prohibited by law from
paving because of their being barred by the statute of limitations;
and
Whereas, the board of supervisors of said county desires that said
county treasurer be authorized to pay said warrants notwithstanding
the bar of the said statute; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
treasurer of the county of Surry be, and he hereby is, authorized
and empowered to pay the said warrants so drawn in favor of said
Ss. B. Barham, in payment of salary due him as a member of said
board of supervisors of said county, to the personal representative
of said Barham, out of any county levy in his hands not otherwise
appropriated, whenever the same are presented, and credit such pay-
ment in his next annual settlement with the board.
