expenses of the said bureau.

‘Whereas, by reason of the expense of preparing a table of con—
ents and index of the report of the revisors and other unusua]
xpenses, the appropriations heretofore made for the salaries ang
xpenses of the legislative reference bureay have become exhausted -
erefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
sum of five hundred dollars is hereby appropriated out of any money
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated to supplement appro-
priations heretofore made for salaries and expenses of said legisla-
tive reference bureau for the fiscal year ending the twenty-eighth
day of February, nineteen hundred and eighteen, to be paid by the
treasurer of Virginia, on the warrants of the auditor of public ac-
counts, issued upon the certificate of the director of said bureau.
2. By reason of the necessity of facilitating the work of the
said bureau during the present session of the general assembly, an
emergency exists and this act shall be in force from its passage.
