Chap. 366.—An ACT to authorize the boards of supervisors to supplement
the compensation of justices of the peace in certain cases. {S B 245]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of any county in which there is an unincor-
porated mining or manufacturing community, in which community
there is a population of five thousand persons or more within an
area of three square miles, may, in its discretion, pay a salary to
one of the justices of the peace having an office in such community,
in addition to the fees allowed by law; provided, that the total com-
pensation of such justice, including fees and salary, shall not in any
case exceed seventy-five dollars per month.
