Chap. 354.—An ACT to require clerks of courts to keep telephones in their
offices.
Approved March 16, 1918.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the clerks of the several circuit and corporation courts of this State
shall keep telephones in their respective offices, if there is a tele-
phone system in such county or city, and charge the rental of the
said telephones to the county or city funds for the maintenance of
said offices.
2. Any clerk failing or refusing to keep a telephone in his
oe shall forfeit five dollars for each day of such failure or
refusal.
