Chap. 332.—An ACT for the protection and preservation of the inter-county
fair grounds at Doswell, Virginia. ([H B 434]
Approved March 16, 1918.
Whereas, the purpose of the inter-county fair is to encourage
and promote production in the counties in the neighborhood of
Doswell, Virginia; and, |
Whereas, the inter-county fair association has gone to consider-
able expense in purchasing “Doswell Heights” and that part of
“Rice and Marshall’s Sub-Division” adjoining and necessary for
the completion of the ground needed; and,
Whereas, this property has no bearing on any other property,
and the streets and alleys and other thoroughfares proposed to be
laid off through it never having been built or used by the public
and having no other property fronting thereon; and,
Whereas, the said streets, alleys and other thoroughfares included
in this tract have been included in the sale to the said fair associa-
tion and have been paid for and are necessary to the conduct of the
business of the said inter-county fair in accomplishing its objects
of rural development; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the inter-county fair association, incorporated, of Doswell, Virginia,
is hereby confirmed in its possession of all proposed streets, alleys
and thoroughfares included in its grounds or intersecting them, and
is hereby authorized to continue to keep its grounds enclosed for the
proper conduct of its business and the accomplishment and fulfil-
ment of its object.
