1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec
tion sixteen hundred and fifty-six-a of the Code of Virginia, b
amended and re-enacted as follows:

1656-a. The superintendent, professors, and all other officers 0
the institution shal] be elected by the board of visitors at the annua
meeting on the .............. day of June, nineteen hundred an
five, and thereafter the superinfendent shall be elected every t¥
years, and the professors and other officers annually, by the sal
board, all being elected with reference to fitness, sobriety, literar
and business qualifications. The-board of visitors may remove 3
any time the superintendent, professors and all other officers 0
the institution, causing to be entered upon the records of the boar
the order of removal, together with the cause of the removal.
