Chap. 289.—An ACT to authorize the board of visitors of the Virginia Poly-
technic Institute. to sell and convey a certain parcel of land not needed
for the purposes of said institution. [H B 209]
Approved March 16, 1918.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of visitors.of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute be, and the
said board is authorized to sell, and by proper deed signed, and
acknowledged by the president of said board of visitors, and sealed
with the seal thereof, to convey to the purchaser or purchasers
thereof, a certain piece or parcel of land situated in Blacksburg
magisterial district of Montgomery county, Virginia, being part of
the land belonging to the Virginia Polytechnic Institute on the road
leading to Canode’s mill and bounded as follows: Beginning at a
stone .a corner of Doctor J. M. McBryde and the land of the Vir-
ginia Polytechnic Institute; running thence north fifty-three de-
grees, fifteen minutes east one hundred and fifty-seven feet to a
stone; thence south eighteen degrees forty-five minutes east, one
hundred and thirty-one feet to a stone at the road; thence, along
the road north eighty degrees west, one hundred and seventy feet to
the beginning containing twenty-two one-hundredths of an acre,
the same not being needed for the purpose of said institution, and
to apply the proceeds of said sale to the current expenses of said
Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
