Chap. 26.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of
Culpeper county, Virginia, to issue bond to raise money for the purpose
of providing for the building and completion of certain roads in Catalpa
magisterial district in said county. [H B 39}

Approved February 7, 1918.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Culpeper county, be, and it is hereby auth-
orized and empowered, in its discretion, to borrow the sum of five
thousand dollars, or so much thereof as mav be necessary for the
purpose, and to issue coupon bonds therefor to the building and
completion of the macadamizing of a certain strip of road in Catalpa
magisterial district. being part. of the road leading from Culpeper
to Madison court house, and being one and one- fourth miles in
length, and running to the Salem magisterial district line; said
bonds to be issued in denominations of five hundred dollars each,
and to run for ten years, bearing interest not exceeding six per
centum per annum, interest payable semi- -annually, all of said bonds
may be redeemed by the said board of supervisors after the expira-
tion of five years from their date of issuance. Said bonds shall be
sold for not less than par.

2. The bonds authorized to be issued by this act shall be signed
hy the chairman of the board of supervisors, and countersigned by
its clerk, and under the seal of said board.

3. The board of supervisors of Culpeper county shall annually
include in the levy upon the property and lawful subjects of taxa-
tion in Catalpa magisterial district, as a part of the county levy in
~aid magisterial district, a sum and tax sufficient to pay the annual
interest on said bonds, and create a sinking fund sufficient to pay
and redeem said bonds at, or before maturity. _

4. An emergency existing by reason of the urgent need of money
to complete the building of a certain macadamized road in Catalpa
magisterial district, this act shall be in force from its passage.
