Chap. 225.—An ACT to ratify and confirm a certain contract made between
the bridge commissioners of the county of Stafford, a corporation, duly
chartered by the general assembly of Virginia by an act approved
February 20, 1886, and Gari Melchers and Corinne Lawton Melchers, of
the county of Stafford, Va. [S B 144]

Whereas, by contract dated September twenty-sixth, nineteen
hundred and sixteen, between the bridge commissioners of the county
of Stafford, a corporation, duly chartered by the general assembly
of Virginia by an act approved February twentieth, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-six, and Gari Melchers and Corinne Lawton
Melchers, the said commissioners in consideration of the sum of
five hundred dollars in cash to them paid, covenanted and agreed
with the said Gari Melchers and Corinne Lawton Melchers that
they, their assignees and grantees, together with all persons, vehicles,
automobiles and wagons en route to and from the property of the
said Gari Melchers and Corinne Lawton Melchers, known as Bel-
mont, in Stafford county, Virginia, near Falmouth, should per-
tually enjoy free right of passage across the bridge connecting
potsylvania county with Stafford county, and known as the Fal-
mouth bridge, and further agreed that said covenant should run
with the land known as Belmont; and,
Whereas, the said, the bridge commissioners of the county of
Stafford, a corporation, as aforesaid, desire the ratification of said
contract; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
said contract of September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred and six-
teen, between the bridge commissioners of the county of Stafford, a
corporation, duly chartered as aforesaid, and the said Gari Melchers
and Corinne Lawton Melchers, be, and the same is hereby, confirmed
and ratified in all respects.
All acts and parts of acts so far as they conflict with this act
are hereby repealed.
