Chap. 187.—An ACT to authorize and empower boards of supervisors to remit

certain classes of local taxes upon certain steam railways operating at

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
boards of supervisors of any county in which there is located a
roadway or any steam railway company in which nine-tenths of the
stock of such company is owned by a city or county of this State.
and which is operated at a loss may, in their discretion, remit the
county taxes levied upon the real estate and tangible personal prop-
erty of such railway company.
