Chap. 169.—An ACT to validate, ratify, approve and confirm certain bonds
to be issued by the county of Elizabeth City, authorizing the issue and
providing for the redemption thereof, and for the ordering and holding
of an election of the qualified voters of the said county, and the election
ordered and held in pursuance thereof, for the purpose of raising funds
for the permanent improvement of certain roads in Wythe magisterial
district, county of Elizabeth City. [H B 320]

Whereas, at an election, duly called and regularly held pursuant
to notice and according to law, at all of the polling places in the
county of Elizabeth City, on the nineteenth day of May, (1917)
nineteen hundred and seventeen, a large majority of all of the quali-
hed voters in Wythe magisterial district, voting on the questions of
the issuing of said bonds, for the purpose of raising funds, for the
permanent improvement of certain public roads in Wythe magis-
terial district, voted in favor of the same, and authorized the issu-
ance of such bonds to an amount not exceeding fifty thousand dol-
lars ($50,000.00).

Whereas, a question having been raised by one of the bidders as
to the regularity or legality of the said election, and the general
statutes of Virginia heretofore enacted; now, therefore,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
said election, and that all acts of the board of supervisors, and of
the circuit court of the county of Elizabeth City, and of the county
clerk of Elizabeth City county, and of all of the election officers of
said county, as well as the said election held in Wythe magisterial
district, on the nineteenth day of May, nineteen hundred and sev-
enteen, and each and all of the election officers, at each and every
polling place, in the county of Elizabeth City, held on the nine-
teenth day of May, nineteen hundred and seventeen, be and the same
ne hereby, validated, approved, ratified and confirmed, and that
