Chap. 145.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 15 of an act entitled an
act to create the office of State forester, under the direction and control
of the State geological commission, and difining his duties, approved
March 21, 1914, and to make provision for the prevention of fires, ap-
proved March 20, 1916. [H B 74]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion fifteen of an act entitled an act to create the office of State for-
ester under the direction and control of the State geological com-
mission, and defining his duties, approved March twenty-first, nine-
teen hundred and fourteen, and to make provision for the preven-
tion of fires, approved March twentieth, nineteen hundred and six-
teen, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 15. The State forester shall distribute notices, printed
in large letters on cloth, calling attention to the danger of forest
fires and to the forest fire laws, and to trespass laws and their pen-
alties, which notices shall be distributed by the State forester to for-
est wardens, and to owners of timber land and posted by them in
conspicuous places. Any person other than a forest warden or the
owner of the land on which such notices shall be posted, who shall
tear down, mutilate or deface such notices shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and punished, upon conviction, by a fine of ten dollars
for each offense. :
