Chap. 53.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section sixteen of an act entitled
an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act for the working of
roads of Loudoun county, approved February 16, 1880, as heretofore
amended. (H. B. 92)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
sixteen of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled
an act for the working of roads of Loudoun county, approved February
sixteen, eighteen hundred and eighty, as heretofore amended, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 16. That the board of commissioners of roads for their re-
spective districts shall annually, in the month of July of each year, lay a
road tax at a rate not exceeding fifty per cent of the aggregate rate of
taxation in such district for county and district purposes, not exceeding
thirty-five cents on every one hundred dollars of assessed value of the
property in such district subject to local taxation, and a like percentage
on licenses within the district, and shall certify the amount necessary to
be raised, to the commissioner of the revenue, and he shall extend the
taxes against all property and persons in the district levied for road
purposes, a copy of which shall be returned to the clerk’s office of the
circuit court of the county and from the said copy so returned, the
treasurer shall make out his books for the collection of said tax.
2. That an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact section six-
teen of an act entitled an act for the working of roads of Loudoun county
approved February fifth, nineteen hundred and fifteen, be and the same
is hereby repealed.
