Chap. 42.—An ACT to appropriate the sum of ten thousand dollars, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, for the purpose of preventing the
‘spread of infection of foot and mouth disease among live stock in this
‘State. (H. B. 89)

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the sum of
ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby
appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated,
for the purpose of defraying the expenses of preventing the spread of
infection of foot and mouth disease among the live stock of this State.
Said fund shall be expended by the State live stock sanitary board with
the approval of the governor, and payments shall be made by warrants
drawn on the auditor of public accounts by the state veterinarian, ap-
proved by the governor. The State live stock sanitary board is directed
to make a full report to the next session of the general assembly, show-
ing itemized statement of expenditures under the terms of this act.
An emergency existing because of the immediate danger of spread
of foot and mouth disease, this act shall be in force from its passage.
