CHAP. 68.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3737 of the Code of
Virginia, in relation to “forgery, uttering, etc., and how punished.”

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section thirty-seven hundred and thirty-seven of the Code of
Virginia, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§3737. If any person forge any writing, other than such
as is mentioned in sections thirty-seven hundred and thirty-three
and thirty-seven hundred and thirty-five, to the prejudice of an-
other’s right, or utter, or attempt to employ as true, such forged
writing, knowing it to be forged, he shall be confined in the
penitentiary not less chan one nor more than ten years.
