CHAP. 261.—An ACT to make an appropriation to provide for the relief
of needy Confederate veterans who are not eligible to become inmates
of the Soldiers’ home because of suffering with cancerous affection or
contagious disease.
Approved March 14, 1912.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sum of three thousand dollars be, and is hereby, appropriated
out of any funds in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to
be applied towards the relief of needy Confederate veterans, who
are not eligible to become inmates in the soldiers’ home because
of suffering with cancerous affection or contagious disease.
2. The said sum of three thousand dollars, or so much thereof
as shall be necessary, shall be paid out in the same manner, and
upon the same warrants, as provided for the annuity to the Con-
federate soldiers’ home, but shall not be paid unless needed in
support and treatment of those suffering with cancerous or con-
tagious diseases.
3. The said sum of three thousand dollars, nor any part thereof,
shall be expended for the benefit of no person except needy Con-
federate veterans who possess the necessary requirements to be-
come inmates of the soldiers’ home, and are debarred therefrom
