CHAP. 256.—An ACT to require taxes levied upon dogs to be put upon the
same tax bill with taxes levied on personal property, and to give the
same remedies for collecting such taxes in certain cases.
Approved March 14, 1912.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
all taxes to be laid hereafter upon dogs belonging to persons
paying taxes on personal property shall be printed upon the
same tax bills with such personal property taxes, and collected
as such personal property taxes are collected, with the same legal
rights to enforce the collection of such dog taxes as are used to
collect such personal property taxes, but nothing in this act shall
be construed to prevent the killing of dogs as at present provided
if such taxes are not paid.
2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act shall be
repealed.
