CHAP. 244.—An ACT requiring two suitable fish ladders at suitable pla-
ces upon the mill dam across Clinch river at Speers’ ferry, Scott
county, Virginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the person or persons, or corporation owning or having control of
the mill dam across Clinch river, at Speers’ ferry, in the county
of Scott, be required within ten months from the passage of this
act to erect two suitable fish ladders at suitable places upon said
dam so that fish may have a free passage up and down said stream
at all times, and maintain and keep the same in good repair and
restore it in case of destruction.
The board of supervisors of the county of Scott shall give
plan for the kind of ladders that shall be put on said dam, and se-
lect the places they shall be put on.
Penalty for failure, person, firm or corporation, to comply
with the provisions of this act shall be proceeded against under
section twenty-one hundred and six, approved March sixteenth,
nineteen hundred and ten.
