CHAP. 233.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to author-
ize the superintendent of public printing to furnish certain persons with
copies of house and senate bills, advance sheets of house and senate
journals, acts of assembly, etc., to collect fees therefor, and to report
collections to the auditor of public accounts, approved March 5, 1908.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the superintendent of public printing be, and he is hereby, au-
thorized and directed to furnish to such persons, firms or corpora-
tions, as may apply therefor, and pay the fees prescribed in this
act, copies of each bill printed for the house of delegates and the
senate, the calendar for each house, advance sheets of the jour-
nal of each house, and of each document, and advance sheets of
the acts of assembly as printed, not exceeding one.copy of each
to any one person, firm or corporation.
2. For the service above prescribed, the said superintend-
ent of public printing shall charge and collect a fee of ten dol-
lars for each session of the general assembly, from each person,
firm or corporation applying therefor; provided, however, that
where application is made and fee paid by any person, firm or
corporation, to whom said bills, calendars, journals, and so forth,
are to be mailed, such persons, firms or corporations, shall pay in
addition to the prescribed fee of ten dollars, the amount neces-
sary to cover the cost of such mailing.
3. The superintendent of public printing shall report and
account to the auditor of public accounts for all sums received
in accordance with this act, together with the names of all per-
sons to whom the services has been rendered, such report and re-
turn of money to be made immediately after the last copy of
advance sheets of the acts are mailed and settlement had with
the out-of-town subscribers. The auditor of public accounts is
hereby directed to receive such sums of money so reported and
place same to the credit of the printing fund.
4. Officers of the State government, members of the general
assembly, and representatives of the press reporting the pro-
ceedings of the general assembly desiring copies of the bills,
journals, documents, and so forth, for their own use, shall not be
required to pay the fees provided in this act.
5. The provisions of this act shall not apply to any person
or persons who may, from time to time, at irregular intervals,
apply for one or more copies of any special or particular bill.
