CHAP. 215.—An ACT to provide for payment to the assessors of real estate
for the city of Roanoke for work done by them in consequence of the
death of one of said assessors.
Approved March 138, 1912.
Whereas, one of the assessors of real estate appointed by
the corporation court for the city of Roanoke, Virginia, fer
the year nineteen hundred and ten, died before the completion
of the said assessment and as a result thereof it has become
impossible under existing law for the auditor to pay the other
assessors engaged in said assessment for all the work actually
done by them; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor shall, out of any money in the treasury heretofore
appropriated to pay for the assessments of real estate in Vir-
ginia and not otherwise expended, pay to the said assessors for
the city of Roanoke such sum as they are equitably entitled to
for work actually done, at the rate of two dollars per day, the
total amount not to exceed four hundred dollars; but nothing
herein shall be construed as making any additional or new ap-
propriation.
2. There being an emergency arising by reason of the rever-
sion of the moneys heretofore appropriated and not paid out,
this act shall be in force from its passage.
