CHAP. 122.—An ACT to require the board of bridge commissioners of the
Falmouth Bridge in the county of Stafford to let out the collecting of
tolls and keeping of said bridge to the highest bidder.
Approved March 11, 1912.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of bridge commissioners of the Falmouth bridge, in
the county of Stafford, shall, at the expiration of the present term
of the toll collector and keeper of said bridge now in office, let
the collection of tolls and the other duties now performed by the
keeper of the said bridge to the highest bidder annually, after
advertising for bids for at least ten days in some newspaper
published in Fredericksburg; the successful bidder to give bond
in the penalty of at least three hundred dollars for the payment
of the amount bid by him and for the faithful discharge of all
duties devolving upon him as such toll collector and bridge
keeper; but no tolls shall be charged where not now allowed,
nor to any pedestrians using said bridge.
2. The current term of the incumbent toll collector and
keeper of said bridge being nearly terminated creates an emer-
gency, and this act shall be in force from its passage.
