Chap. 177.—An ACT relating to demurrers to evidence.

1. Re it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That in all suits
‘motions hereafter, when the evidence is concluded before the court and
ry, the party tendering the demurrer to evidence shall state in writing
«cifically the grounds of demurrer relied on, and the demuree shall not
» forced to join in the said demurrer until the specifie grounds upon
hich the demurrant relies are stated in writing: nor shall any grounds
i demurrer not thus specifically stated be considered. After joinder in
a no other evidence shall be admitted and a non-suit shall not be
