Chap. 162.—An ACT to authorize the sale of the penitentiary spring lot, a
Richmond.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the super
intendent of the Virginia penitentiary is hereby authorized, with th
approval of the board of directors, to sell the lot of land situated on th
north side of the alley running from Jefferson to Madison streets, bet weer
Main and Cary streets, in the city of Richmond, for a sum to net thi
State not less than one thousand dollars, and the State corporation com
mission to execute a deed to the purchaser upon payment of the pur
chase money, which shall be deposited in the State treasury.
