Chap. 90.—An ACT to punish the wilful or malicious taking or removing of the
waste or packing from out any journal box or boxes of any locomotive, engine,
tender, carriage, coach, car, caboose, or truck used or operated upon any rail-
road, whether the same be operated by steam or electricity.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if any per-
son shall wilfully and maliciously take or remove the waste or packing
from out any journal box, or boxes, of any locomotive, engine, tender,
carriage, coach, car, caboose, or truck, used or operated upon any rail-
road, whether the same be operated by steam or electricity, he shall, upon
conviction thereof, be confined in the penitentiary not less than one nor
more than three years, or in the county or city jail not less than one nor
more than twelve months, or fined not exceeding five hundred dollars.
