the same manncr as they might, under the laws then existing, unless it
shall be otherwise specially provided by law. Nothing in this act con-
tained shall be construed to impair the charter of any corporation exist-
ing at the date of the passage and approval of this act, or any right or
liability which any existing corporation, its officers, directors, stock-
holders, or creditors may have or be subject to, or which any corporation
had or was subject to, at the date of the passage and approval of this act,
by virtue of any provision of the Code, or amendment thereof, or act of
the general assembly, repealed by the preceding section.
3. An emergency existing for the immrediate passage of this act, the
same shall be in force from its passage.
