Chap. 25.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 61 of an act to provide a new
charter for the town of Clifton Forge, in the county of Alleghany, approved
February 3, 1900.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
sixty-one of an act to provide a new charter for the town of Clifton
Forge, in the county of Alleghany, approved February third, nineteen
hundred, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 61. The council shall annually, at is regular meeting in May, or as
soon thereafter as practicable, order a levy upon all male persons within
the said town over twenty-one years of age, and on all real estate within
said town not exempt from taxation, and on all such personal property
and other subjects as may at the time be subject to taxation by the State:
provided, however, that the tax on persons shal] be fiftv cents, and the
tax levied for general purposes shall in no vear be more than one dolla:
and fifty cents on every hundred dollars of the assessed value of real anc
personal property and other subjects within the town..
