CHAP. 238.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of Abingdon school district, in
Gloucester county, to borrow money and to issue bonds therefor.
Approved March 15, 1904.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the Abing-
don district school board of Gloucester county be, and is hereby, au-
thorized and empowered to borrow, upon the faith and credit of said
Abingdon district, a sum not exceeding fifteen hundred dollars, and to
jssue bonds for the same, bearing interest at a rate not exceeding six per
centum per annum, payable annually, or semi-annually, the money so
borrowed to be used for the purpose of building a school-house in said
district, and to equip the same with necessary furniture and appliances,
and the said bonds to be issued in such amounts, and payable at such time
or times and upon such terms and conditions as said board may see fit to
contract for and unpose.
2. The board of supervisors of said county of Gloucester, at the re-
quest cf said district school board, shall embrace in the annual district
levy for said Abingdon district a sum sufficient to pay the annual interest
on said bonds, and to provide a sinking fund which shall be held and
appied by said district board to the payment of the principal of said
nds.
