Chap. 178.—An ACT for the protection of squirrels in Southampton and Isle of
Wight counties.
Approved March 14, 1904.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, that it shall be
unlawful in the counties of Southampton andi Isle of Wight to kill or
otherwise destroy the gray or fox squirrel between January fifteenth and
September first, and any person violating the provisions of this act shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be
fined not less than two dollars and fifty cents nor more than fifty dollars,
or confined in jail nol exceeding six months, either or both.
